Editor and automatic publishing

On this page

The Editor is an optional second opinion on proposals. It is separate from the Correspondent agent mode. Open Editor to configure it and review its decisions.

Enable the Editor

Have a Correspondent agent, opt in explicitly and supply a usable OpenRouter key. The Editor judges Correspondent proposals. Inspect verdicts, explanations and precedents against your own decisions before relying on it. Agreement shows how its judgements compare with review feedback; it is not a guarantee that every future post is safe or useful.

Review and teach

Use verdicts and precedents to understand the editorial policy. Give consistent feedback in Backstage. Reject and Off-topic record different review votes; the proposal remains visible. Correcting text is also a meaningful intervention when a scheduled publication is pending.

An optional second opinion

Select a stage to see what happens there.

  1. Backstage

Backstage. Your private review queue. Publish manually, or explicitly enable the Editor’s automatic publishing.

  2. Editor

Editor. An optional second opinion. Automatic publishing starts off and has a veto window.

  3. Main

Main. The public channel. Optional when your goal is collecting for review.

Study and save a charter

In Charter and research, choose followed channels and a look-back period, then read their posts. Reading uses no AI. Review the estimated cost before discovering subjects or measuring their shares. Adjust subjects, inspect examples and ask for a charter draft. Edit it, then save explicitly: a generated draft is not automatically adopted. The saved charter affects the next judgement; you can remove it to return to decisions and agent subjects as guidance.

Editor precedents are your past publication/review decisions on similar proposals. They serve the Editor’s policy, separately from examples used to configure an agent’s selection contract.

Turn on automatic publishing

Automatic publishing is off by default. Neither completing setup nor enabling an agent turns it on. Enable it explicitly, choose the publication-confidence threshold and veto window, and confirm that Main is ready.

Eligible posts wait through the configured veto window before automatic publication. Manual Reject, Off-topic or a correction cancels the scheduled automatic publication. Check the proposal’s current status after intervening; do not assume every item in Backstage is scheduled.

Turn Auto-posting Off in Editor to stop automatic publication globally. The pinned Backstage control message also exposes its switch, threshold and veto time. The threshold applies to the current proposal’s publish score, not your historical agreement percentage.

Understand other limits

Topic policy and the Main automatic-publishing cap can prevent automatic publication even when an Editor verdict is favorable. A reached Main topic cap still allows manual publication. Intake caps, proposal budgets, workspace AI allowance and provider failures can affect earlier processing.

You can continue reviewing and using Publish manually without enabling automatic publication. See Topics, Backstage and Usage when investigating a decision.
